HIIT Strength – Tuesday’s 10.40am

Now that the holidays are over so many of you have turned your attention to your fitness. We have such a variety of fitness classes on our schedule that we thought we would showcase a class in the newsletter each week. So, let us introduce HIIT Strength.

APCGA Solheim Cup Event

APCGA

The ladies section have had a busy few weeks with their Putting and Prosecco and Solheim Cup Events – both pictured above. Many congratulations to Lesley Henderson and Yvonne Blackwood who won the Senior Ladies Greensome event – Division 2/Handicap at Peterculter Golf Club.

The APCGA section are delighted to announce a new male 9 hole golf section.

All levels from beginners to improvers are welcome. All games will be played at Kippie on Wednesday mornings – tee-off times 10 am, 10.10 am and Saturday mornings – tee-off times 9.40 am – 9.50 am. For further information please contact Kippiemengolf9@gmail.com

Many congratulations team USA for winning today’s APCGA Ladies Solheim Cup event. Also pictured Marjorie Davison for winning best dressed and nearest the pin prize, Eilidh Taylor for winning the longest drive, and Claire Coffee for winning team Europe best dressed.

Social Groups

We are delighted to announce that after such a long break, Kippie’s singing group is returning.

Singing teacher Morag Simpson will be our new singing coach here at Kippie.

Well….you could say I have taught music all my life since the age of 15!! School teaching has included Cults Academy St Margarets and many of the city and Shire schools. I now concentrate on taking choirs mainly.

I have former pupils working in the music industry and recently met up with an old pupil from the Alford area…Emeli Sande. I would love for members to come along and give it a go – you do not have to be an experienced singer just have a love of music.”

The singing group will restart on Thursday 2nd September at 7pm in the Balmoral Suite. If you would like to take part or require further information then please email kaydarbyshire@kippielodge.co.uk.

Don’t forget about our Squash Open evening on Monday 23rd August from 6 pm – 8 pm or Tuesday 31st August 6 pm – 8 pm. We welcome players of all skill levels – from beginners to advanced to come along. We are hoping to start some mini-leagues within the club to start over the autumn and winter months. No need to book just pop along.


Sports Complex

We would like to draw attention to the new fitness timetable which went live last Monday. There has been some changes of times of certain classes:

NEW TIMES

Pilates, Tuesday with Steph is now 17.15 S2 and online

Youth Gym on Wednesday is 16.30-17.30 with Daniel

Kettlebells have moved from outdoors into Studio 1 for the Autumn, is now t 17.20 instead of 17.30 with Lutfiya

Cardio Tennis has reverted back to its normal times now school holidays have finished e.g. Thursday 10 am with Alan

Interval Training for Seniors (ITS) is now Thursday at 11.30hrs with Louisa

Friday Nia is now 10.35 am,

Saturday adjustments; BODYPUMPEXPRESS 9 am, LES MILLS CORE 09.45 am and BODYATTACK at 10.30 am

Sunday adjustments BODYCOMBAT NOW 9 am and BODYPUMP now 10 am with Scott


Kids at Kippie

Hurrah – Splash Time has returned. Your wee ones chance to burn off all their excess energy every Friday 3.45 pm or 4.45 pm, Saturday and Sunday 2.15 pm 3.15 pm and 4.15 pm. Booking is essential online or by calling 01224 734747.


Miscellaneous News

No Shows
In the unfortunate event you are unable to attend, please ensure you cancel your class or activity so it is available for another member to book. To date in June, we have had no shows of 10% of gym and 6% of pool bookings.
You can cancel your bookings online via Your Account History, by calling Reception on 01224 734747 or texting 07398462356.

Started his journey in 2017 as a lifeguard. Over the years Scott progressed in to different disciplines including Les mills; RPM, Pump, Combat & Attack as well as Bootcamp and youth gym.

Mitchell Robb

ABS and Youth Activities

Mitch is 19 years old and recently passed his level 2 in sports coaching at college. Big Congrats to Him!
He is also currently studying for his Level 6 in Sports, Exercise and Science

Join him for Abs classes on a Monday night from 6pm to 6:30pm.
If your kids are budding Badminton players they can join Mitch between 2pm - 3pm in Studio 1.

WENDY GRAY

Aches & Pains Aqua

A fun session sprinkled with movement science. Exercising in a pool provides relief with pain and stiffness in the joints.

It is a great class if you are recovering from surgery or got arthritis.

You will be working at your own ability but quickly will see progression as the weeks progress.

The class takes place each week on Thursdays at 13.50 (1.50pm).

Go on, head to the pool and give it a try!

Latfiya has been covering fitness classes throughout Aberdeen since 2015 and we are delighted that she is taking four classes here at Kippie.

"I am super excited to be joining the Kippie team. My love for fitness has made me expand my training skills to include the latest techniques including Pilates and Power Pilates with which I am certified to work with. My workouts are all about precise and controlled movements while maintaining proper alignment. If you have never attended a strength or kettlebell class please do not feel you cant take part."

"Despite on the skill or difficulty level of any class I teach it will be suitable for every level as there are modifications always available,  just like every instructor I work with the client’s needs, to encourage them and always include.I provide options whether you are a pure beginner or advanced."
