Happy Friday everyone! Ok, the weather has not been as great this week but the Club has still been a hive of activity.

In this week’s round-up newsletter we have information regarding fitness classes, beauty promotions, summer activities and some exciting news coming from the Lodge! Let’s get right into it.

Charity Golf Event

Sunday 5th September

Charity :  Grampian Women’s Aid

Event:  A Texas scramble open to men, women and juniors who are Kippie members, or their guests (provided the usual Kippie conditions for a guest are met).   Low and high handicappers.

A Texas scramble is all about fun (although winning counts too!).  There are teams of 4, 3 or even 2 if needed.  Book as a team, or we will put you into one.  Each player tees off and the team choose the best drive (not necessarily longest!), then all team players take their second from there and again the best shot is chosen and all take their 3rd from there – and so on.  So – no matter what your handicap – no pressure on anyone!

There will be prizes for 1st and 2nd teams, longest drive, nearest the pin, and there will also be a “beat the pro” competition.  For those nervous about their drives, “Mulligans” are available to buy for £1 (an extra shot), and even a piece of string to get you out of those tricky lies!

Date:  5 September – shotgun start (ie every team tees off at the same time round the course). at 11 am and registration open from 10 am in Reception area.

Cost:  £15 pp to include light refreshments afterward in the Conservatory, with prize giving.

Booking:  Through Kippie reception 01224 734747.   Numbers are limited, so please book early.   Name, telephone number and handicap should be provided.

We’re hoping for a good turnout – team supporters also welcome –

this is about having fun and raising money for charity.

If you have your child booked into summer camp for next week then please make sure you visit the ‘groups’ section of this site kippie.life and download all the relevant information you require. In this, you will also see your child group leader and drop-off places.

Fitness News

We are in the final process of completing our Fitness Schedule for Autumn and believe that we will offer a varied and enjoyable range of classes. Monitoring of the intake of classes will continue and any class not well attended will be replaced. We hope that you will enjoy!

Certain classes continue to be held via Zoom such as Yoga and Pilates. The default setting when entering a class on Zoom is cameras set to the off position and microphones muted. Please, can we ask members not to undo these settings during the classes to save disruption to fellow members.

Please can we remind members to arrive 5 minutes early to their fitness classes to allow time for setting up equipment and checking in via VCI.

Social Tennis

Our Social Tennis sessions on Sunday afternoons will be taking place at 5 pm instead of 2 pm as of Sunday 8th August.


Kids

Don’t forget – our bouncy castle is up every Friday from 4 pm – 8 pm and Saturday/Sunday from 12 noon – 6 pm. Simply book a table at the Lodge to secure your space by calling 01224 739901.


The Lodge

We are excited to announce that week beginning 9th August the team at Kippie will be hosting various entertainment for families from 4.30 pm. Activities include family bingo, family quiz, kids races, football and to end the week on a high there will be a Friday Night Extravaganza event with LIVE singing, bouncy castles, and games. Limited spaces now remain so call us today to book your table 01224 734747. £15 per adult, £7 per child – set menu.

Limited tables now remain also for our Asian Bistro on Saturday 28th August from 6.30 pm onwards.

We are delighted to announce that Nadia Clark will be returning to Kippie offering Reflexology and Indian Head Massage. Nadia will be available from Tuesday 17th August with her hours being 4pm – 8pm every Tuesday and Saturdays 10am – 3pm.

Started his journey in 2017 as a lifeguard. Over the years Scott progressed in to different disciplines including Les mills; RPM, Pump, Combat & Attack as well as Bootcamp and youth gym.

Mitchell Robb

ABS and Youth Activities

Mitch is 19 years old and recently passed his level 2 in sports coaching at college. Big Congrats to Him!
He is also currently studying for his Level 6 in Sports, Exercise and Science

Join him for Abs classes on a Monday night from 6pm to 6:30pm.
If your kids are budding Badminton players they can join Mitch between 2pm - 3pm in Studio 1.

WENDY GRAY

Aches & Pains Aqua

A fun session sprinkled with movement science. Exercising in a pool provides relief with pain and stiffness in the joints.

It is a great class if you are recovering from surgery or got arthritis.

You will be working at your own ability but quickly will see progression as the weeks progress.

The class takes place each week on Thursdays at 13.50 (1.50pm).

Go on, head to the pool and give it a try!

Latfiya has been covering fitness classes throughout Aberdeen since 2015 and we are delighted that she is taking four classes here at Kippie.

"I am super excited to be joining the Kippie team. My love for fitness has made me expand my training skills to include the latest techniques including Pilates and Power Pilates with which I am certified to work with. My workouts are all about precise and controlled movements while maintaining proper alignment. If you have never attended a strength or kettlebell class please do not feel you cant take part."

"Despite on the skill or difficulty level of any class I teach it will be suitable for every level as there are modifications always available,  just like every instructor I work with the client’s needs, to encourage them and always include.I provide options whether you are a pure beginner or advanced."
